OVHcloud File Storage
OVHcloud launched its fully managed File Storage solution in early Q2 2026, marking a significant expansion of its Public Cloud storage portfolio. This service provides scalable, high-performance NFS volumes ranging from 150 GB to 10 TB, delivering up to 16,000 IOPS and 128 MB/s throughput, making it ideal for shared storage needs across clusters and instances. The solution is designed for seamless integration with OpenStack projects and supports vRack compatibility for isolated private networks across multiple datacenters. With general availability announced in mid-March 2026, OVHcloud File Storage is now deployed across all Public Cloud regions.
Amazon Elastic File Service (EFS)
Amazon EFS is a scalable, fully managed file storage service designed to provide high availability and durability for enterprise applications. It seamlessly integrates with AWS cloud services and on-premises environments, making it ideal for workloads requiring shared access to file data across multiple instances. EFS supports both Linux and Windows workloads and is particularly well-suited for applications that demand low-latency access, such as content management systems, big data analytics, and media processing. Its elastic scalability ensures that storage capacity grows or shrinks automatically with your needs, eliminating the need for manual provisioning and reducing operational overhead.
Azure Files
Azure Files offers a robust and versatile file storage solution, deeply integrated with the broader Azure ecosystem. It excels in hybrid scenarios, enabling seamless file sharing between cloud and on-premises environments, especially for Windows and Linux virtual machines and Bare Metal servers. A standout feature is its granular recovery capability, allowing users to restore anything from individual files to full system states, including Active Directory and Registry backups. This makes Azure Files an excellent choice for enterprises requiring comprehensive data protection, disaster recovery, and efficient backup management. Its native integration with Windows Server further enhances its appeal for organizations leveraging Microsoft technologies.
Google Filestore
Google Filestore is a modern, unified file storage service that prioritizes "incremental-forever" data protection, making it ideal for hybrid and cloud-native environments. It stands out with its Instant Mount feature, which allows users to mount backup data directly onto a host for near-instant access, significantly reducing recovery time objectives (RTOs) for large virtual machines or databases. Google Filestore is particularly strong in disaster recovery (DR) orchestration, enabling automated failover and failback of entire environments between on-premises and the cloud. This makes it a compelling choice for enterprises focused on minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity.
