Open Telekom Cloud 2020 - sysbench RAM

RAM is the memory benchmark from sysbench. We use it to stress the volatile memory with small block of 1KB and collect the throughput from this operation.

While 1KB may not fill entirely the RAM bus, it may highlight other characteristics. As VMs share for sure the physical links between CPU and memory, our sysbench scenario by heavily occupying RAM access will raise noisy neighbors effect.

RAM performance is also a major indicator in the case of relational and noSQL databases, especially when they entirely stored in volatile memory
